San Francisco Rugby Academy To Offer High Performance Camp

Press Release - San Francisco, CA - June 15, 2010

The San Francisco Rugby Academy is pleased to announce a 2010 Summer High Performance Rugby Camp July 8th through July 11th.
The camp accommodates various age groups and skill levels, and is designed to help players develop the fundamentals for playing rugby more effectively as both individuals and team members. The camps low coach-to-player ratio will provide campers with the time and coaching to focus on the latest skills, techniques, and concepts related to forward and back play. The 4-day format includes specific rugby instruction as well as video analysis, specific strength & stability training, sports psychology and nutritional counseling.

"Our approach is unique we are looking to set a pathway to prepare players for higher levels of rugby such as age grade and collegiate rugby," said Academy founder Paul Keeler. The camp is only a precursor to other services the Academy offers. "What sets us apart is that we offer our services throughout the year in the fall program of clinics slated for players and coaches, this is in addition to the continuation of our fall/winter academy sessions" Keeler added.

This year, the Academy has assembled an outstanding ensemble of coaches from various backgrounds, all of whom have coached and contributed to the development of rugby in the United States. "We believe we have assembled the best and most experienced coaching staff available" said Keeler. The staff includes:

Current and former players, including Eagles, All Americans, and Super League, will serve as guest coaches and are a tremendous
compliment to this excellent coaching staff.
The camp will be located at St. Mary's college in Moraga, California and will have use of the school's top athletic and housing facilities.
